First Aid Courses with William: Fundraising for the Kasoa Polyclinic

We are excited to share a fantastic initiative currently being led by William, one of our board members. William is offering First Aid courses specifically designed for medical students, and he's doing so on a voluntary basis! Through these courses, he aims to raise funds to further support the work of Akwaaba e.V. At the same time, he integrates our mission of bringing medical aid and education into focus.

The first course took place on October 31, 2024, in Hamburg and was a great success. Another session is already scheduled for December, allowing even more medical students to benefit from this opportunity while simultaneously supporting our projects in Ghana.

Why first aid courses?

First aid knowledge is essential – and not just for medical students. It can be life-saving in everyday situations such as household accidents or traffic accidents, just as it is in medical emergencies. In William's courses, participants learn how to act quickly and safely in emergency situations. The practical content goes beyond the basic knowledge many are familiar with from driving school and is specifically tailored to the needs of aspiring medical professionals. The focus is on building confidence in one's abilities and better handling real emergency scenarios.

William started this initiative to further strengthen our organization's concept: he wanted to not only raise funds but also use his medical knowledge to create real value for the participants. With a lot of personal effort and great dedication, he is helping to support Akwaaba e.V. while spreading knowledge that can save lives.

How will the proceeds be used?

The special thing about William's courses is that all the proceeds from the events are directly donated to Akwaaba e.V. These funds are used for our projects in Ghana, particularly for the planned first-aid training for school children. With the money, we can finance important materials, including teaching aids, first-aid kits, and training equipment. Additionally, these donations allow us to expand the reach of our initiative and reach more children and teachers.
Our vision is to save lives through knowledge and preparation. Every course that William offers brings us one step closer to this goal.

How you can help

If you are a medical student yourself or know someone who is interested in a hands-on first aid course, we warmly invite you to participate in one of William's courses. Feel free to send us an email at info@akwaaba-ev.de. You will then receive further information from us. In addition to acquiring essential skills, your participation will make a valuable contribution to our work.

William plans to offer more dates in the coming months. The courses not only provide professional content but also offer a great opportunity to network with other students and learn more about the work of Akwaaba e.V.

A big thank you to William and the participants!

We would like to sincerely thank William for his exceptional dedication and initiative. Through his voluntary work, he demonstrates how personal commitment can align with our organization's mission. We also want to thank all past and future participants: Your support not only helps our projects but also actively contributes to raising awareness about the importance of first aid.
