Our work includes the provision of vital medical equipment and the organisation of training courses for local medical staff. The story behind Akwaaba

The inspiration to found Akwaaba e.V. began in Ghana in 2022, when our founder Jessica Matyssek was working in a local hospital during her clinical traineeship. The difficult working conditions and the acute shortage of medical equipment left a deep impression on her. This experience prompted Jessica to take action and set up an organisation to help where help is most urgently needed. Back in Hagen, she founded Akwaaba e.V. to equip medical facilities in developing and newly industrialised countries with the necessary equipment and to provide further training for local medical staff. Support us and help us to sustainably improve healthcare in these regions!

The Future of Akwaaba

More than just medical equipment

Akwaaba e.V. is not just about supplying medical facilities in developing and emerging countries with equipment. We have also set ourselves the goal of strengthening local medical staff through first aid and emergency training. Because we believe that knowledge and training are just as important as equipment. In addition, we also offer courses in schools to promote preventative measures and raise awareness of first aid at a young age.

We want to offer courses in schools to teach first aid skills at an early stage and raise awareness of safety and first aid.

We want to offer special training courses that provide practical preparation for dealing with critical situations such as accidents and serious injuries.
