Medical Aid from Baden-Württemberg: A Gynecological Chair for Ghana

In December 2024, we received a generous donation: A gynecological practice from Baden-Württemberg provided us with a gynecological chair. While this chair no longer meets German standards, it is fully functional and urgently needed in Ghana. We would also like to express our sincere gratitude for the additional donation of a personal scale. This device will be a valuable asset to the daily work at the Kasoa Polyclinic. Particularly helpful is the fact that it is a manually operated scale, making it independent of electricity or digital technology.
Travel Report from Ghana: Challenges and Opportunities for Akwaaba e.V.

There are trips that go according to plan – and then there are trips like this one. Our journey to Ghana was originally scheduled for January 2nd. On the way home from the consulate, my passport was lost during the postal process. It was Christmas, the authorities were closed, and it was simply impossible to find a solution. Bad timing, you could say. My flight had to be rebooked for January 9th, without knowing if I would even receive a replacement passport and visa in time. At the last minute, I managed to get an emergency passport and visa in Hamburg – all at the very last minute, but fortunately, it was a success!
First Delivery of Donated Materials Successfully Handed Over!

The donated medical equipment and supplies, which arrived in Africa with the first shipment at the end of 2024, were successfully handed over to the Kasoa Polyclinic!
On January 16, 2025, the moment finally arrived – Jessica arrived in Ghana to personally oversee the handover of the donated equipment. Together with our local partner, Wayers GmbH, we transported the equipment from the warehouse in Weija to the Kasoa Polyclinic. There, we were already welcomed by the medical professionals and the clinic management, who were thrilled with the valuable support.
