Akwaaba e.V. – Medizinische Nothilfe in Ghana

Projects

Kasoa Polyclinic

The Kasoa Polyclinic, a central health facility in a village west of Accra, Ghana, plays an important role in regional medical care. However, there is a lack of urgently needed medical equipment, which makes the staff's work more difficult and affects patient care.

Training programmes at schools in developing countries

Health challenges in developing countries require more than just short-term solutions. During our first project – equipping the Kasoa Polyclinic with medical equipment – it became clear that while the support with equipment and materials was urgently needed, it was not enough to create long-term change. Sustainable improvements can only be achieved if knowledge about health and prevention is directly passed on to the people on the ground.

Medimeisterschaften

Starting in 2025, Akwaaba e.V. will embark on an exciting partnership with the Medimeisterschaften, one of the largest sports festivals for medical students in the German-speaking world. This event brings together thousands of medical, dental, and veterinary students from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Romania, and other countries to engage in sports while supporting charitable organizations like ours.

First aid courses in Germany

Akwaaba e.V. relies on the knowledge and commitment of its members, who are medical students, doctors, or dentists. With this professional expertise, we saw the opportunity to offer first aid courses in Germany to raise funds while also supporting our projects in Africa.
